West point summer high school leadership program

A lot of military students arrive in the summer and that's a great time to talk to them about the school and show them popular things to do around town. Endres said the student ambassadors email surveys to the new students to match their interest with the interests of student ambassadors. We do follow up on them from time to time, though. After attending this conference, I will bring back ideas to O'Neill.

It's a good opportunity to raise our S2S to new heights. At the conference, students work at team building, attend fireside chats to discuss human development, personalities, diversity, intercultural sensitivity and getting involved in exercises designed to gain some insight into such things as differing perceptions.

Students also have fun socializing with cadets by sharing pizza, bowling or learning how to fence. Class of Cadet Justus Eckstrom--spoke to the student leaders about their experiences as student ambassadors in their high schools. The student leaders enjoyed being around cadets because they are close in age and can relate to them on different subjects, like what to expect in college. Each Service Academy has a summer program to give upcoming high school seniors a chance to experience cadet or midshipman life.

If you are in 11th grade, now is the time to apply for a summer seminar! Make sure you fill out all the paperwork on-time, otherwise USAFA will give your slot to someone else.

Your Element Leader will be with you almost 24 hours a day as your mentor and guide. Summer Seminar will introduce you to life at the Academy, where you will experience academic, athletic, and professional training.

Your Summer Seminar application will also serve as a preliminary application to the Academy that you will complete before or during your senior year. You will live in Bancroft Hall, experience life on The Yard, and learn from midshipmen and faculty.

For students flying from out of town, West Point will arrange transportation from Newark Airport, you just have to arrange a flight there. Get introduced to a completely different college experience by attending our SLE.

This is a week-long immersion in West Point academic, military and social life. You will also have the chance to ask cadets questions about the Academy and the Army.
